About Us

iBelieve Services is a company comprised of highly trained individuals who teach Orientation and Mobility skills to individuals with visual impairments.  At iBelieve we strive to help people use their remaining senses, and accommodations, to travel safely throughout their home, community and global environments. Some of the training we provide include teaching individuals how to read and interpret tactile maps, and how to safely and efficiently use long white canes to navigate indoors and outdoors. We teach people about simple and complex traffic patterns, and we help them learn to use their senses and environmental features to safely navigate daily routes.  We also teach students about the safe and efficient use of available public transportation.  We guide students through steps that they can take to advocate for themselves in public and private spaces. We train clients in the prerequisite cane skills needed to obtain a guide dog.  When appropriate, we provide assistance with applying for a guide dog.

At iBelieve we know that everyone living with a visual impairment deserves to live life to the fullest.  We are committed to serving the people of North Carolina by helping individuals with vision loss regain their sense of independence through travel instruction, learning about the tools available to assist their independent lifestyles and getting connected to community resources.  Whether the individual is a young child, college graduate, employed in the workforce, a veteran or elder, we value you and want to support your goals for independence.  

All of our Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialists are highly trained and certified by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education Professionals (ACVREP).
